Tea, SD's Gutter Installation & Gutter Guards Expert

A homeowner reached out to us looking for a gutter cleaning. He had a few spots that were leaking and overflowing, and he wanted a professional to check for clogs.

When our rep, Matt, arrived, he listened to the homeowner’s concerns and performed a full inspection of the gutter system. What he found surprised the homeowner: the gutters weren’t clogged at all.

Instead, the system had several installation issues:

• Corners were worn out and leaking

• Brackets weren’t installed correctly

• The gutters were hung improperly

During the conversation, the homeowner mentioned that he had recently replaced his roof and the roofing crew had taken the gutters down and reinstalled them. That explained everything. The gutters weren’t failing because of debris; they were failing because they were not installed properly.

Once Matt shared that the gutters weren’t clogged, the homeowner felt relieved and didn’t want to explore the deeper issues. But the truth is that improper installation can lead to much bigger problems over time — not just with the gutters, but with the roofline, soffit, fascia, and even the home itself.

Gutters are one of your home’s first lines of defense against water. If they’re not installed correctly, the entire system is at risk.

This visit was a reminder that sometimes a “simple cleaning” uncovers the real problem and addressing installation issues early can prevent costly damage down the road.

Kevin reached out looking for an estimate to get a gutter re-sloped and the downspout moved to a new location on a second story roof line. While this is a fairly easy task to do, take in to account it is 2 stories high and all of the sudden, this becomes a lot tougher of a job. The equipment is taller, heavier, and a high risk situation. Save this task for the professionals, Reach out to let Gutter Shutter help you out with this task! We got you covered, fully insured, licensed and bonded, We are ready to help with all your gutter needs.

Justin's open-style gutter system around his home in Tea, SD was not performing very well in handling leaves from several nearby trees. He wasn't too sure if the gutters were absolutely failing, or if a few key improvements would make them perform a lot better. He did know the 2x3 downspouts in 7 spots around the house were just not getting the job done. After coming across our booth at the Sioux Empire Home Show, Justin set up an appointment for a free evaluation and estimate of fixing his gutter system.

Jason Borresch, our owner, was out at the home to see what we could do for Justin. Ultimately, the gutters themselves were in pretty good shape, but some debris protection would be essential for keeping the gutters functioning. We would also plan to upgrade the entire downspout system by using our standard 3x4 size and adding in our wide mouth outlets to quadruple the drainage capacity from the gutter trough. With the RainDrop gutter guard on all 179 feet of gutter, he would have an ultra-durable and all-season protective topper.

If you think it's time for your gutters to get an upgrade, don't wait for more problems to start. Get in touch our office today and set up an appointment for a free estimate!
