Gutter Shutter Completes Major Gutter Upgrade at Mellette Elementary School, Improving Safety and Water Management for Students and Staff
Mellette, SD — 07.30.2026 Gutter Shutter of Sioux Falls has completed a significant gutter system upgrade at Mellette Elementary School, enhancing the building’s water management, protecting the structure, and improving safety for students, staff, and visitors.
The project was initiated after the school district identified ongoing issues with aging gutters that were no longer performing effectively during heavy rainfall. Standing water, leaky seams, overflow, and ice buildup during winter months created concerns around building longevity and walkway safety. Gutter Shutter was selected to do the upgrade.
“Schools are the heart of our communities, and we take pride in helping protect the spaces where children learn and grow,” said Jason Borresch, Owner of Gutter Shutter of Sioux Falls. “This upgrade ensures Mellette Elementary has a reliable gutter system that keeps water away from the building, reduces maintenance needs, and improves safety yearâround.”
Mellette South Dakota has a population of 192 residents. Gutter Shutter brought in 4 guys, 3 vehicle, in 2 days and one rainstorm later.. the school is now ready for the upcoming school season! Thank you everyone for the work and effort and trusting us to work on your school!
The project reflects Gutter Shutter’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities and providing durable, highâperformance gutter systems for homes, schools, and commercial buildings across South Dakota and Minnesota.
